    B. Dinner Committee - Children’s Week Awards Dinner & Reception hosted by UnitedHealthcare

            a.  2017 speakers confirmed: Justice Peggy Quince, David Lawrence, Judge Sjostrom, DCF Secretary Carroll

            b.  Chiles Advocacy Award winner to speak at the dinner; Creative Preschool singers.

            c.  Dinner registration open – Partners receive complimentary tickets, or $75 each on first come, first served basis via online registration -

    C. Activities Committee - Children’s Capitol for a Day on Tuesday, March 28

            a.  Booth set up in the courtyard from 6 to 8 a.m. for all partner booths; instructions sent in mid-February to all partners along with dinner invitations

b. Hanging of the Hands – Hands to be mailed to ELC of the Big Bend by Friday, March 10 -

  1. Give Us A Hand Campaign – photos of hand art shared via social media #GiveUsAHand, contests and prizes for winning hand art.
  2. Volunteer for Children’s Week – We need your help at the State Capitol for hands, booth set up, lunch and more


            c. Teens Town Hall Meeting hosted by Florida YMCA Youth in Government – 10 to 11:30 a.m.

i.   New location confirmed Governor’s Cabinet Room; Florida Channel confirmed; Cabinet invitations being sent.

            d.  Storybook Village – Registration open for youth and free storytelling booths – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  1. 2017 Theme “Alphabet Zoo”; 30 reading booths presently confirmed; books confirmed and more than 1,000 children signed up.

            e.  Youth Advocacy Workshop –Young Lives Matter: Exploring the Root Causes of Youth Violence by The Children’s Trust – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Tallahassee City Hall.

            f.   Entertainment – 2017 Main stage entertainers and Storybook stage readers being finalized

g.  Lunch partners confirmed – Sunshine Health is Lunch Partner; Subway sandwich provider

h.  Farm Share (breakfast) and Starbucks (coffee) confirmed
