Celebration of the Hands
Mon April 5 to Fri April 30
Each year, young children, teachers, and families, decorate tens of thousands of pieces of hand artwork, which are used to create a beautiful display during Children’s Week Florida, honoring the Hanging of the Hands, which began in 1986 in the State Capitol Rotunda. These beautiful hands serve as a reminder to legislators, advocates, and all visitors that thousands of Florida’s children are impacted by the policy decisions made by the legislature.
With closures due to the pandemic, this year’s event will be located at the TCC Center for Innovation and Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence. We are thankful for our Children’s Week Partners who have helped keep this annual tradition alive, which features children’s art collected from early learning programs and schools across the state. Thank you again to this year’s Celebration of the Hands Partner, Sunshine Health.
