Paul Renner

THANK YOU TO FLORIDA’S EARLY LEARNING CONSORTIUM FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Children’s Week Florida and the Florida Early Learning Consortium are proud to present the 2025 Early Learning Leadership Award to Former Speaker, Paul Renner. This award celebrates the outstanding work of Florida’s early childhood experts and advocates.

Paul Renner, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives (2022-24), was selected as this year’s award recipient for his passion and dedication to Florida’s youngest citizens. Renner has worked for many years to help build Florida as an “Opportunity State,” in which it stands as top choice for those who want to get ahead in life, a place where effort is rewarded by a better future. He stands firm in his belief that this requires a first-class education system. To help achieve this, he supports choice in education, customized learning, and early college that allows high school students to gain college level credit or receive industry certifications prior to graduation.

Renner is a U.S. Navy veteran, former prosecutor, and business attorney. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting serious felony offenses. Since 1998, Renner has represented individuals and businesses as their advocate in a broad range of commercial settings.

Renner was raised in Northeast Florida, where he attended public school. He earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts in history at Davidson College in North Carolina. He was elected to the Florida House in 2015 and was term limited in 2024. Renner lives in Palm Coast, Florida, with his wife and two children.
